The Susan Chen Foundation is a Hong Kong-based philanthropic organisation that aims to bring the wonder of Chinese Art to the Hong Kong community and further afield, and to support education, research, innovation and careers in the world of Chinese art and art history, thereby also supporting Hong Kong’s position as a major cultural hub. We also seek to help disadvantaged Hong Kong youngsters in their upbringing and studies, including supporting child welfare initiatives.
Established in 2022, the Foundation pursues its mission through partnerships with leading institutions in related fields in Hong Kong. Through our mission, we seek to perpetuate the cultural interest and philanthropic objectives demonstrated quietly by the respected collector and art dealer Susan Chen during her life.

Recent Projects

With the support of the Susan Chen Foundation, IBEL can operate two centres that provide quality, subsidised education support with a focus on Chinese language proficiency and life skills development

The Susan Chen Foundation is helping The Hub offer a range of programmes like homework guidance, language lessons, recreational activities like music, art, drama and sports to students from underprivileged communities.

The Susan Chen Foundation will provide the funding to the Hong Kong Museum of Art (HKMoA) with which to launch “The Next Generation Curators Programme” aiming to cultivate future museum curatorial talent.

The Susan Chen Foundation is sponsoring the Hong Kong Palace Museum’s (HKPM) Chinese Object Study Training Programme which will comprise twice-yearly workshops with the aim of training the next generation of Chinese art specialists.
